With considerable hands on experience (since 2003), Alden has developed her wellness programs, which she has shared with valued clients and patients.
Massage, stretching, gentle exercise and minor shifts in home routine can result in enormous improvements in the quality of life of both aging dogs and those dealing with post operative issues.
Who can benefit from True Balance Animal Wellness’ services?
- OLDER DOGS "SLOWING DOWN" or seeming "A LITTLE STIFF"SAREK(pictured at left), a 12 year old lab mix who could no longer take walks or navigate stairs. Alden taught his owners passive range of motion, bodywork, and quick and simple daily strengthening exercises. With consistency from his parents, and weekly cold laser/bodywork sessions, he’s walking up to a mile daily, and is climbing stairs independently again!
- DOGS SCHEDULED TO HAVE ORTHOPEDIC SURGERYAlden has helped numerous clients prepare their homes, and prepare themselves, for what to expect postoperatively. This ensures a safer and less stressful recovery for both dog and owner.
- FOR THE "WELL" DOG AND PROACTIVE OWNERAlden has conducted numerous one-on-one sessions, teaching basic anatomy and bodywork/stretches. This helps owners learn how to prevent injury through stretching, as well as keeping their dogs fit and sound.
This is “Maise” — a 2 1/2 yr old dog who competes in dock diving. Alden created a conditioning program for her mom to get her fit and ready to compete after a long winter of minimal exercise.
- FOR FAMILIES WITH DOGS IN DIRE STRAITSSelma, a 5 year old 140 pound Great Dane, walked in to the hospital for neck surgery, and was sent home post-op paralyzed from the neck down. With her neurosurgeon’s referral, Alden treated her with cold laser and bodywork, and offered helpful ideas/home aids for managing Selma on the road to recovery. They were shown core strengthening exercises, recommended acupuncture, and she recently started hydrotherapy. For a more in-depth report on Selma’s treatment, click here to read a case study.
